Braking issues

Brakes are one of the first things to set up in the car, and it is recommended to set it up with the highest brake pressure possible, and then adjust as needed.

Note: If you are locking the wheels only at certain points, make sure your battery is NOT fully charged when entering the braking zone, if your car is equipped with an electric motor!

  • Increase overall brake pressure (if locking all wheels easily)
  • Increase brake balance or brake migration (if locking front wheel easily)
  • Decrease brake balance or brake migration (if locking rear wheels easily)

Particularly when locking the rear tires, try and delay your downshifts slightly, particularly into lower gears, as added resistance from engine braking can push the threshold just over locking up point.

Aim to set up your brakes so that you can brake with full force after the fastest and in the heaviest braking zone. If you are locking up when the car is traveling slower, adjust your braking method.
