First you need to prepare some basic information about the race for which you want to calculate your strategy for. Most importantly, the race duration, and average laptime in the race. Additionally, for longer races, the expected time loss in the pits, which current default is 90 seconds.
Furthermore, you will also need your Fuel and Virtual Energy consumption per lap information, to gather those, head out on track, drive 3 to 4 laps or however much it takes you to warm up the tires properly and get up to speed, and check in the Fuel MFD on the HUD your Fuel (L/lap) and Virtual Energy (%/lap) consumptions. Note that some cars do not use Virtual Energy and will not have this information.
Note that LMP2 and LMGTE class cars do not come with Virtual Energy, for these cars check what is their maximum Fuel capacity in the setup screen in Le Mans Ultimate as you will need this information in the Pitstop Calculator.
In the Pitstop Calculator first select the HYPERCAR/LMGT3 or LMP2/LMGTE, depending on which class of car you will be driving and input the gathered information. Once you are done, click the Calculate button.
When the strategy is calculated, it presents the calculated race information to you where you can find:
