Understeer - Low Speed Corner Entry

Asuming your line and you are trail-braking into the corner enough you can adjust the following general settings.

Change only one setting at a time in small increments

From more to less influence

  • Increase rear ride height
  • Decrease front ride height
  • Decrease front spring stiffness
  • Decrease front anti-rollbar stiffness
  • Increase front tyre toe-out
  • Decrease brake balance (move rearward)
  • Decrease brake migration (move rearward)
  • Decrease differential coast locking and pre-load
  • Decrease front slow bump and rear rebound damper stiffness
  • Increase front negative camber
  • Decrease rear negative camber

Help with turnin is achieved by shifting more weight to the front in that phase of the corner, which can be achieved by altering the rake of the ride height, front suspension stiffness to allow more weight to shift forward, increasing the front tyre toe-out, or by adjusting the differential coast locking and pre-load.

Particularly in slow corners where you need to brake deep into the corner, shifting the brake balance rearwards will help with getting the car rotated into the corner. However, too much rearward brake balance can start causing you to lock up rear tyres, particularly during downshifts.
