Tyre is overall too hot

Note: after a prolonged slide or a spin out, the tyres will be hotter than during normal driving!

Change only one setting at a time in small increments

From more to less influence

  • Switch to a harder compound of the tyre
  • Increase tyre pressures
  • Decrease brake ducts
  • Decrease suspension stiffness

Switching to a harder compound of the tyre will help with overheating tyres as a harder compound tyre generally operates in a higher temperature window. However, using a harder compound tyre will reduce your overall grip.

By increasing the tyre pressures you will decrease the overall contact patch of the tyre, and therefor reduce heat buildup in the tyre. Be careful not to overinflate the tyres!

By decreasing the brake ducts in the setup page, you open up the cooling ducts more which will allow the brakes to cool off more and not have as much heat radiating off the brakes to be transfered into the tyres.

If the suspension is too stiff, the car might be bouncing more along the surface particularly during cornering, increasing the load on the tyre and causing the tyres to heat up more. However, softening the suspension will have a big impact on cornering performance.
