Tyre is overall too hot

Note: after a prolonged slide or a spin out, the tires will be hotter than during normal driving!

Change only one setting at a time in small increments

From more to less influence

  • Switch to a harder compound of the tire
  • Increase tire pressures
  • Decrease brake ducts
  • Decrease suspension stiffness

Switching to a harder compound of the tire will help with overheating tires as a harder compound tire generally operates in a higher temperature window. However, using a harder compound tire will reduce your overall grip.

By increasing the tire pressures you will decrease the overall contact patch of the tire, and therefor reduce heat buildup in the tire. Be careful not to overinflate the tires!

By decreasing the brake ducts in the setup page, you open up the cooling ducts more which will allow the brakes to cool off more and not have as much heat radiating off the brakes to be transfered into the tires.

If the suspension is too stiff, the car might be bouncing more along the surface particularly during cornering, increasing the load on the tire and causing the tires to heat up more. However, softening the suspension will have a big impact on cornering performance.
