Reaching the RPM limiter right before braking

If you're reaching the redline right before you need to break for a corner, it results in a needless gear change up, since you will need to change the gears back down again immediately. To avoid this you can try to:

  • Lengthen the gear ratio in which you are hitting the limiter
  • Lengthen final gear ratio
  • Increase the gear limiter

Note: not all of the above options are available in all of the cars in Le Mans Ultimate!

Changing a single gear ratio can have the desired effect, but it will impact the next gear by making it shorter, be vary that you might need to adjust all following gears.

Changion the final gear ratio affects all of the gears in the transmission and have an impact on acceleration.

While moving the limiter will prevent you from hitting it it can introduce additional strain on the engine which might end up hurting you in longer races.
